Avoid beverages with alcohol and with caffeine (coffee, pop) that tend to dehydrate you, because they can contribute to small, dry stools.
Avoid acid forming foods such as sugar, animal protein, dairy, and caffeine-containing food and beverages.

Other tips:

#1. Eat slowly. Chew your food thoroughly. This allows the saliva and digestive juices of the stomach, liver, and pancreas to break down food more easily.

#2. Eat your meals at regular intervals. A regular meal pattern is recommended for obese people.

#3. Exercise regularly. If you can find 20 minutes walk to the shop or 15 minutes for a light job, your metabolism will thank you for it and so will your hemorrhoids.
